Honorable Keith Ellison: Islam and Muslims in America Today

Please join us for a conversation with the U.S. Representative Keith Ellison (Minnesota) on his experiences in the Capitol Hill with special respect to the issues concerning Islam and American Muslims today. 

As a member of the House Financial Services Committee, Representative Ellison helps oversee the nation’s financial services and housing industries, as well as Wall Street. He also serves on the House Democratic Steering & Policy Committee,  co-chairs Congressional Progressive Caucus for the 113th Congress, and is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus.  He has previously served on the House Judiciary Committee and  the House Committee on Foreign Affairs. He founded the Congressional Consumer Justice Caucus, and belongs to more than a dozen other caucuses that focus on issues ranging from social inclusion to anti-terrorism. Before being elected to the Congress, Representative Ellison has been a noted community activist and run a thriving civil rights, employment, and criminal defense law practice in Minneapolis.  He also served two terms in the Minnesota State House of Representatives.
